It’s my machine they are referring to. You would need to speak to ACS about it, and be willing to pay the VAT to myself. Even with the VAT - it is a significant saving on what I paid.

The machine is semi boxed up ready to go back to Italy - I stopped using it as soon as ACS agreed to refund me.

Ando IMO, you can also consider putting up for sale as an alternative. I wonder if there is anything which may not facilitate this. Of course, returning to Italy is ideal. Not sure, how would the VAT recovery would work in that case.

Yes I too hope you find a buyer. Obviously we’re not going in to the figures involved but I visited, collected and paid Jake directly for mine.

Maybe you have this also as option 2. If you do I’d advise all negotiation to be in private vie email etc

In any case I hope you and ACS find a good solution. If I’d not got mine already I think it would be now sold….. I’ve certainly read nothing on here to think otherwise.

LMSC Absolutely not. They have acknowledged it was unacceptable to send machine, have offered me a full refund, and I have accepted the refund offer, that’s it. It’s not mine to try and resell - that’s the way I see it.

Been a very stressful (still is to be honest) saga.

If they want to sell it on to someone in the UK - I am happy to try and help facilitate that - but only if I am properly reimbursed. I don’t think that is unreasonable in the slightest.

I don’t want to keep discussing it online - I stoped posting a long time ago.

Returning it is probably the surest/simplest way to get all of your money back as I think you can claim the VAT (and any duty) back as per this:

Knowing what buyers in the UK can be like, you’ll almost certainly get tyre kickers, tightwads and people trying to stiff you out of paying you the value of the VAT you paid.

Well, not really seen. But I discussed with him on the German forum about a problem he had with his machine with the pump, giving short blasts all the time. I think the machine is real.

If I didn’t have an evo already, I would drive the 200 miles from my home to get it tomorrow.

Worth that price for mechanical spare parts!! From what I read he’s possibly had hysteresis screw fully or too fat clockwise on the pressure stat but didn’t follow the saga all the way to its demise . There seemed some misunderstanding about the full function of the pressure stat. Quite good logic circuitry going on in there.

About the function of the pressure stat:

I understand the N.C. contact when you turn on the machine makes the pump work till the desired preinfusion pressure is reached and then opens to let the pump stop. Then the N.O. Contact closes. But what does this N.O contact actually do?

Hi All,

Sorry if already asked but… Couple of drops out of the side of the portafilter, so in thinking about replacing the gasket. Ideally a would be nice to put in a silicone gasket. Has anyone already done this? Looking at the exploded diagram it showed 65mm, and I can see a cafelat one for Breville of that size. I also found the one on the link below, but that is 64mm. Thought better to ask that start a random process ..

danielpugh The normal precise size for these gaskets is: 64,6 X 53 H.5.5MM

The one you linked to will probably fit fine as it’s just out by 1mm on the inside diameter, so it could be a tight fit, but silicon will probably be a stretchier material than NBR or Viton.
