Hi mate, The grounds in mine basically come from the fact I do not go to the sink at all to clean my portafilter.
After every shot, I use the flush lever to clean the remaining grounds from the portafilter.
When I first started using it, I considered if this would cause the drain hose to block as it is approximately 3 m before it enters the washing machine drain. So far this is not the case and I have been doing it now approximately 2 and ½ years starting with the synchronika then Vesuvius then the Evo and now the number two 😎
The path to the washing machine drain is a combination of drain down hose and 15 mm copper pipe.
The sink is only a few footsteps away But I enjoy the workflow of just using the machine.
It also has the advantage of not cooling the portafilter as I am using brew boiler water to clean it.
It only takes a few minutes to remove and clean the tray when I think about it, but I have to admit that is not very often 😚
