Stevebee You need to contact ACS, I suspect a non return valve on the way to the brew group might be letting by (pressure is able to get back past it). The one between the expansion valve and the pressure sensor.

It could be scale, it could be debris?

Thanks for the replies. Dose doesn’t seem to be it, it’s channeling at 18g, 20g, and 21.5g.

I feel like using the IMS 32 basket with a puck screen reduces the risk of channeling, if you guys say you’re using the ACS basket without a puck screen, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work for me too.

Is the ims basket classed as higher flow?

I do have both the ims but get on betterer with the ACS . Anyone know who makes them? Im assuming Paolo does’t go to the hassle of manufacturing them?

I believe it is still an option….it’s not a standard part of the group.

Just to say as you seem relatively new around here, Picture of mine above is actually the small flush leaver but with the addition of a lever handle and adaptor nut.

Unless @Paolo_Cortese likes it and decides to offer it you need the ACS leaver and a bit of DIY, or just stick to what you get. I just cant help myself!!

Hope they don’t, I don’t mean to rain on your parade…but I think it looks horrible…perhaps one of the small toggle knobs, but not that overly large monstrosity. Even I who have no real sense of style, know that it’s a massive bubo on the LSM Clone group. There, I’ve said it…sorry. 🤔

So originally i had paolo’s metal one, swapped to the 2 wood joysticks but fancied something i could just push . Had the spare lever handle (all ACS made).

Couldn’t find a converter m8 to m10 coarse to use on the portafilter handle and am not back in the shed yet to make one.

All m8 to m10 seem to be m10 fine.

Found the m8 to m12 on amazon so here we are.

Maybe something slightly smaller but not a lot will do but so far haven’t spent anything on joysticks or handles!!

More practical to use than maybe it looks on the close photos.

I still prefer the original prototype from a feel and being solid perspective but no way to get that one to turn on the pump automatically as soon as i pull the main lever.

Unfortunately my Leva started to constantly be hissing If the Steam Boiler is turned on.

So i probably need ro deacale the Vacuum breaker.

Is there a Tutorial in how to properly remove it? Am afraid to damage the machine.

The piece on the left is the safety valve, the one on the right the vacuum breaker.

Safety valves cannot be serviced as far as I know.

So where’s the hissing coming from?

You can tap the vacuum breaker with a wooden spoon and check if they stops. If it does, then you might be able to fix it.

If it’s the right hand one the vacuum breaker, they can be repaired very easily….you split the breaker apart and ONLY THEN remove the circlip. After that you will see the O ring on the pin that falls out, just put another one in made of FKM/Viton or Silicone.

You will have to measure for size, as I can’t remember what the size is…or if you buy an FKM o ring kit from amazon, about £8, you will have many too choose from.

Much like @SebH posted I also have had the constant hissing from the steam boiler but mine comes and goes. Some days its very faint and other days it more pronounced. I have just been dealing with it because its not that annoying but I do want to get things fixed.

I am assuming if I tap the vacuum breaker pin and it changes the hissing noise then that is enough diagnosis to then go ahead and order o-rings? I am in the US so i’ll have to find a suitable replacement the link that Dave posted isn’t available here.

Its 90% the vacuum breaker. The challenge that I have is: how do I remove this w/o having to disassemble the whole machine? If I try to remove it, the whole part on the boiler starts to slowly move (which can’t turn due to the mounting of the housing).

You need to hold the section below the V/breaker with a spanner or grips (TAPE FOR PROTECTION)
Then use a socket or ring spanner to release the V/B with its pin

I can’t quite see from the video, but the vacuum breaker is likely only attached to the T piece using PTFE.

If the main T piece connection to the boiler has turned, you will be very fortunate if it’s not leaking, as that connection does use thread locker!

Unfortunately I still did not manage to clean the v-breaker.
It sits so tight that I’m not able to remove it with a spanner or socket (even if I try to hold the section below the V/breaker with another spanner). The T piece also moves left and right so might also be that the thread locker that Dave mentioned now broke…

Trying to understand what the best move forward is. Is there an easy way to remove the whole piece from the boiler so that I can take a look at the single parts on my bench…) Have PTFE and thread locker at home.
