Adrianmsmith theres an evo leva mk2 at the top of it.

My poor old mind would never be able to remember or learn what to do! I might be wrong but I do not see the new features as changing the coffee…..just enhancing the process so I am surprised you think the Mk 2 outshines the Mk 1.

My car has gone back for a new ECU and wiring loom. I liked it because it was not digital. The replacement has no knobs or buttons and everything is done through the touch screen, so to make an adjustment to the air con I need to pass a degree and then try to remember which buttons to press……I absolutely hate it!

Yep. I’m the same. We are now in a era where the digital display + electronics is much, much cheaper than buttons. I have a car where everything is controlled by touch buttons + digital screen… Honestly… I do not enjoy it, and I’d even say it’s quite dangerous to try to turn the aircon on whilst driving!

As you say the coffee is the same.

The convenience is the difference.

In order of improvements id say the pre infusion system is better , easier to adjust when required and not relying on the pressure stat .

Then the auto dump is great as you can walk away and look at the numbers when its done or just steam milk for the next cup without looking at the pressure yes I’m idle , you know 😎

And it’s all intuitive. You would love it!!

But!!! In the cup, they’re both just a good. ☕🥰

Hi @DavecUK et al: As you know I purchased @Cuprajake’s Evo Leva. I’m really happy with it. It has developed two intermittent faults. When it turns on each day it doesn’t heat up, and the pump doesn’t start when I pull down the handle. If I turn it off in the usual way on the panel it makes no difference. If I switch off for a couple of minutes and turn it back on it reboots and works for a few hours but the next day the same problem. I presume its a sensor somewhere. Any advice? Thanks! Graham

Hi graham. Not got any suggestions im afraid.

Can you help with a Bit more info …. Are temperatures reading correct when its sat idle not heating up and pump not playing.

When it is heating are temperatures rising normally as expected.

First thoughts are always the pressure stat!! But that would not stop it heating??

Any signs of any weeping or leaking anywhere?

Does it act “normal” when you get it to heat up….

Is pre infusion working as it should when you get it up to temp.

Looking for clues!!

Adrianmsmith Hi Adrian so when I re-boot from the main switch it works perfectly. But when it switches on with the daily timer or I simply leave it for a few hours the temperatures read correctly (ie they show room ambient temperature) but the machines “stalls” - ie doesn’t heat up. And whatever I do the pump doesn’t engage. Once I reboot the machine it works perfectly for a few hours..

Grahamsphillips The only odd thing about this on your Evo is;

Low water would cause the pump not to run, but the heaters would still work? OR, perhaps not on an Evo1! Check the low water system, that could be intermittently faulty

I can’t think of anything that would cause the pump not to run, all the displays to be normal and the heaters to be off as their is not really a common single component that affects all those, except for the main board. The only problem with this is, I am not sure how the mainboard could introduce this very specific set of faults. I guess anything is possible, but it just sounds unlikely?

Or perhaps it’s just some loose wires on the mainboard?

So what happens after you brew, than leave it. Does it after a while just start to cool down?

Both boilers?

And does the pump work at this point in time if you push the pump actuation lever ?

Thinking of a combined issue with the ssrelays and pressure stat……

I purchased @Cuprajake’s Evo Leva 1. I’ve been really happy with it. It has recently developed two intermittent faults. its odd as it resets, so loose wire not sure on,

if a boiler sensor is not working would that not cut the heater and also tell the pump theres not pressure in the sytem?

im presuming brew boiler?

@Grahamsphillips is it stable on the brew boiler temps?

Just got my machine this week and I am loving it. I do think the limited movement of the steam wand is the only thing I would change. Anyone here have the Vostok steam wand on their Evo? If so, do you have better flexibility and does it impeded the function of the screen?

I steam to the side of the machine not over the machine ….

Adrianmsmith I went for all white and Olive. I have to steam on the side as well instead of in front because the clearance is super tight. My wand tip will touch the drip tray before it will clear the hole that yours is pointed into.

Thay have posted pictures on instagram with it fitted.

The big issue fitting it will be turning the valve 180 without marking the paint will not be possible . theres your gauntlet thrown well and truly down!!

The normal place for mine is by the side i always leave the beaker there half full of water to purge befor and after the shot. I dont like to just blast it in the open!!
