This may not look like a game changer but it would be depending on your choice of machine!!

They now added recording of actual dump pressure, so dialling in new beans is a breeze.

Also by setting a silly low end pressure im my case 4 bars you dont even need manual. If you forget to end the shot it would still end at 4 bars as uts still on auto, but, when ending the shot effectively prematurely by pressing the dump button whilst watching the scales i get the exact end pressure recorded to set as set point 2 or normal.

And you can now set the pressure where it changes over to time the shot so the guy who wanted 5 bars preinfusion should also be happy as you could set say 9 bars as the changeover pressure.

Win win win.

Just one further thing i would add as ive previously mentioned. …. When on a normal shot thats running too quickly id like to press the plus or minus button to stop it auto dumping whilst that button is held in and dump on release.

My machine runs the pump a lot in order to get to the desired preinfusion pressure. Any fixes or does that happen to everyone. I could’ve sworn it only used to pulse once or twice between getting to pressure.

Ah yes, makes sense. Pasting the link below. So for that shot, it counted 3.7 seconds of preinfusion on the screen after all that time of pulsing.

it’s doing quite a few pulses, but that’s because there is no pressure showing on the guage, as soon as it does show it stops. What have you got the PI pressure set to on the panel?

If it’s very low it can take more pulses

It is set 3 bar. What do y’all have it set to? When it was delivered it was set at 2.b bar and quickly got to pressure.

Cuprajake That’s a good point, if he is using 18g in the very large baskets they supply…but one would assume he has always used the same baskets and this behaviour is new?

It would be useful to see the preinfusion flow from the group, without a portafilter in and also…has it got the safety sleeve system?

Cuprajake Interesting… I am using the huge stock baskets and dosing 20 grams. I can try going up to 22 grams. If that is the issue then I need to order smaller baskets.

Read this and do the test I suggest. It would be good to see the flow into a measured container…set it to 1.8 or 2 bar, then lets see what’s going on.

could do, but unless you have changed something it shouldn’t change,

its as if its not registering any pressure in the pf as the gauge isnt moving, then all of a sudden it jumps over your set point, not sure if you lifted the lever or not to cause that jump, fwiw i personally found no real need to infuse over 2bars 5s infusion then lift.

Alright, so I set the preinfusion back to 2.5 bar (how it came from the factory) and pulled a shot using a 22g dose. It took almost 10 seconds of pulsing every second until the pressure needle moved. Then it continued to pulse until it hit 3.5 bar and held, I left it for about 10 seconds before releasing the lever. So it completely passed my preset.

When I watch the videos you all post, it pulses once or twice before reaching the pressure. I like how quick and quiet that is, and my pump pretty much runs until the lever is released. Is there any troubleshooting methods y’all recommend or do I need a new pump?

Its more likely to be a pressure sensor , then the pump. They are usually highly reliable.
