Yes it would be impossible to fit that shower screen to a blind sleeve 🤔
So the original shower screen is never going to be as good a fit as the one on the blind sleeve as its the same size as the sleeve bore which is why theres kess edge leakage with the circlip.
I dont think theres room for an o ring either .
The best trick to fitting the circlip is to fit it out of the machine!!
Ive previously sat on a stool with the shower screen at head height which is better than trying to do it standing at the side of the machine.
Only parts that need removing are the 4 x m6 domed nuts with a 10mm spanner.
When reassembling nip them up equally but not over tight.

May try a o ring or fernox silicone to seal it better but the oring would be intrusive i think
