Adrianmsmith I’m not making any more of the removal tools. I found that the piston wasn’t particularly screwed in very tight but care needs to be taken as the material is soft and easily bruised.

As you say, they are not too tight and with a damp dishcloth I’m sure you can manage perfectly by hand

A new leak, if you can call it a leak

The smallest most niggliest leak in what is the worsist(!) possible place. . Hate it when that front panet is involved.

Waiting for a ⅜ bsp coupler coming to try out an idea(!!) to do it in situ without any cosmetic damage 😚

I had a somewhat similar issue in addition to the leak at the back. This may happen if the steam wand handle becomes movable. I removed (of course no scratch to the chrome), applied a semi-permanent glue, left to dry for an hour before fixing the steam tip accessories.

Of course, the back panel fix has a mind of its own. 😳

Yes to take off all of the valve but i want to try and split the body without doing that. Not sure really which is the worst of the two evils 😎. Do you want to open a pole, if I will end up damaging the powder coating the Chrome or both 🤔😭😭

Was your steam valve already removed from the machine or did you remove the front valve body with it still in place…..

Adrianmsmith First, I removed the steam arm from the body. Then, the steam arm body . Both came off easily. It wasn’t hard. I did use sticky tapes on the spanner, though.

Fixing the back frame leak was almost impossible. 😬

I was looking for s thin spanner for the back nut and a similar action to that shown in the video but a socket on a ⅜ bsp connector screwed in place of the steam wand, thinking i wouldn’t damage or deform the outlet threads.

Is the actual spanner for the valve nut 26mm or 9/16 whitworth (not 9/16 af!!!) want to avoid adjustable spanner but may use knipex plier wrench .. just want to make sure it does not move!!

Some thing like this with a screw driver tip to turn

Knipex should work, if you have a plastic cap to protect or roll a small piece of tissue and tightly wrap with sticky tape.

26 mm spanner going back. Too sloppy. 9/16 Whitworth is perfect

To be fair, both of these spanners are actually slightly oversize. The 9/16 Whitworth being a Tad under 26 mm.

I am going to break my own Rule and use the thread locker this time in the hope that it ends up back in the correct orientation without removing the valve. I would normally just use PTFE
