hellojava I think it depends on the nature of the fault, things like an uneven grille wouldn’t bother me because you see these kind of problems everywhere (by that I mean even across industries) and it’s easily fixed but if the drip tray was warped I would expect a replacement because that doesn’t sound like it’s easily fixed and something I wouldn’t really have expected to not be noticed during production and testing, in the same way I would expect a replacement if one of the chrome panels was horribly marred etc.
My machine seems to have two issues, the first being the steam boiler vacuum we’re all aware of, we have a work around which solves the issue in usage (although I would like to understand what’s causing it, they can’t all be faulty vacuum breakers? Wrong pipe layout?) and the second seems to be a faulty safety valve which I’ve described above, as it’s easily replaced I can’t really get annoyed over a standard part failing, that’s not anyone’s fault.
I think anyone buying these types of machine regardless of if they’re £500 or £5000 should be comfortable with a reasonable level of maintenance and problem solving. To be clear, I wouldn’t consider the group dripping all day ‘reasonable’ but as long as ACS helps resolve it I wouldn’t hold it against them in the long run either.
