I can suggest to remove the central screw on the shower screen and clean the flat surface if dirty and screw back than just make with blind filter one shot and push the button in order to release the pressure, just one time.

So, seems like a basic backflush. Will add that to the weekly schedule.

This only goes if you have the safety system installed.

Adiszep the machine is up to temp, for me these temperatures work well.

pinky-and-me thanks! I was under the impression that I’m different or my machine is different. Slowly and gradually I kept lowering temps until I’m mid 80s for group and low 90s for boiler.

What grinder are you using?

Adiszep I have a Titus with the hybrid burrs. But I think the temp plays a bigger role in my case. With higher temps I had to loosen the grind to avoid harsh and bitter taste, but then I had to updose to get a decent flow rate and that brought the bitterness back. And it never worked to my liking. Now I dose 15g with fine grind and low temp and get very pleasant and tasty shots.

And given how filter extraction works, I think lower temp makes more sense with espresso extraction for this kind of bean roast.

I’m pretty frustrated right now. I switched back to the deep basket from ACS, because I bought a nice self-leveling tamper that fits the ACS basket perfectly, but is a little too small for the IMS version.

I don’t think I’ve had a shot without channeling in the last 20 extractions. Does anyone have any tips regarding channeling?

I’m currently dosing 20-21g (but I’ve also tried 18.5g for fun, same result). I WDT, slightly tap the portafilter left and right, slam it lightly on the counter to settle it, and tamp. My temps are at 90/94 at the moment, and I’m using dark to medium roasted beans that have been roasted 25 days ago.

I dose 21.5g medium roast and 22g decaf in the standard basket. Any less, sloppy mess.

Day in day out perfect.

I dose 21.0g med roast as well in the standard basket. Grind into a blind shaker, and then drop into my portafilter. I then just tamp. No channeling since i’ve had it. Only underextraction occasionally until i grind a bit finder to get my ideal times..

Thanks for the replies. Dose doesn’t seem to be it, it’s channeling at 18g, 20g, and 21.5g.

I feel like using the IMS 32 basket with a puck screen reduces the risk of channeling, if you guys say you’re using the ACS basket without a puck screen, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work for me too.

Not sure if anyone can help. I was using the auto pressure release set at 6 bars which worked well initially. However it sometimes moved from pre brew at around 3 seconds and the pressure was release. My workaround was to use the pressure release manually which works.

Soon after my issues the machine started a constant pulsing noise. Stops when ai pull the lever but then continues

Any idea where this noise is coming from. I done a number of back flushes with Puly Cafe but it’s still there Video of noise

Stevebee You need to contact ACS, I suspect a non return valve on the way to the brew group might be letting by (pressure is able to get back past it). The one between the expansion valve and the pressure sensor.

It could be scale, it could be debris?

Is the ims basket classed as higher flow?

I do have both the ims but get on betterer with the ACS . Anyone know who makes them? Im assuming Paolo does’t go to the hassle of manufacturing them?
