@LMSC - well done & looking good. will work towards getting mine done soon. got to focus on the plumber to get the drain in ready for the osmosis first. Also need to adjust the steam as its sitting at an angle, so just need a quiet weekend…

Could not peep inside for limescale. Too dark with poor visibility. Next time. I do test the service boiler water regularly though

@Eiffel, I am sure it will stand. The valve is good up to 200C. Fingers crossed. Haven’t seen any leak or drip.

I just filled the reservoir after removing the tongue of the water-tank opener on the far-end. It makes such a good difference to filling the tank and cleaning the water spills.

@LMSC - fyi the endoscope was £36 including postage, and that included a HD screen, 2m cable with waterproof lit camera. Usb ones for phones are much cheaper, but I wanted all-in-one to avoid compatibility issues. Assuming it lasts a few years a good thing!

It has a golden nut with two wires at the centre! Any guidance will be appreciated. Is it a reverse thread (hence anti-clock wise facing the machine)?

I used the vac valve the first time, then the PID sensor afterwards.

The thermostat - the one with a coupe of tiny red wires?

I think the thermostat is the one with the reset button and is a hard safety cutoff at 145 Deg.. That one doesn’t go inside the boiler. The PID sensor does (memory) have red wires and feeds back temperature to the pid. It’s wrapped with PTFE & probably what you are thinking of. It’s a probe inside boiler so hole to use when removed.

Yeah. I am thinking of the same with the red wires. Is this one you remove to get inside ? Is it easy to take it off and put it back? Do we need to take any care while removing please ? Is it also the reverse thread (anti-clock) ?

The limit stat has spade connectors for the wires…the thermal probe has 2 thinner wires and a connector about 8 inches down the wire that can be pulled apart..before you unscrew it….to avoid twisting up the wires.

Is this the one, which we need to pull out before unscrewing, is it not please ? Please see the picture below.

This brings three doubles :

What’s connected to this wire inside the boiler ? How do I undo the connection inside the boiler? How does one reconnect the wire inside the boiler ? I am thinking if the whole thing with the wire and the thin-heating element will come out with the golden nut.
Do I need to exercise any care while unscrewing and taking out this golden nut ?
Plenty of PTFE tapes is required, I assume.
