When I pulled a shot, I found it necessary to grind 4-5 steps finer on my MC6 compared to the previous screen, which was dialed in as of this morning. The shot (my own medium roast of a Crown Jewel Peru) was quite balanced and delicious.
To be honest, I was skeptical about this, especially at the price point, but so far, it looks like a worthwhile upgrade. Time will tell how often it needs to be cleaned and whether the performance will last. ""
I just canāt get my head around how a shower screen can make that difference, but dont want to spend that much to find out.
Whats the science here, having read many times in the past a shower screen upgrade is snake oil.
Im not saying it is!! But struggling to see a reason.
ā¦ā¦. Especially as when brewing its under pressure and we cant see what difference it makes.
Has any research been done.
