I find the same with my Niche. Grind, shake grinds into PF, level with finger, gently bang PF on counter to settle, then tamp (not too hard and as level as possible). Simples.

-Mac Used my puck rake today…not sure it did anything useful, ah well another £8.99 down the tubes.

Admin - But but… Did you buy one with 0.35mm needles, 4 needles spread evenly over an area of 1cm squared, protruding a 15 degree angle outwards? Those are the important bits.

Jokes aside… I tried with and without. If I don't use it, I get multiple streams on the bottomless PF and channeling.

Oof, I would manage to get that stuck in the basket holes and widen them up a tad!

Stevebee

JahLaza I’d snip off those points. On mine I glued a £1 coin to the base which helps keep it steady and upright. Wrapped the whole cork in self amalgamating tape, which is grippy and acts like the grip on tennis racquets. Found the plastic corks slightly easier to work with. Also wrapped a tiny square magnet on the side of the base under the tape so it can also just stick to any metal surface to keep it tidy.

JahLaza

Stevebee all great tips cheers. I’m not looking to win any competition or anything though!! I don’t go too deep into the puck, maybe halfway so it’s a very rough and ready operation and seems to work ok!

CoyoteOldMan

Hugonl37 That is a better scenario than mine: I'd manage to stick them all in my fingers!

I made something similar, 3D printed with an internal magnet:

Pff…I found it doesn't help at all, I chopstick like Bruce Lee invert the grind cup, do the Bossa Nova like Carmen Miranda and it's all good.

Admin Thats two more steps than I take!

Cost of new feet, should any one be interested in

The price of the four feet is €56,00 + the price of the two brackets is €100,00 + shipping to UK €50,00. The sterling cost at the current exchange rate is about £175 + UK VAT and customs.

There is no need to drill a hole to fit the bracket or the feet.

dfk41

LMSC Without wanting to sound daft, does the new set up actually make any difference at all, other than in the evolutionary sense? I like keeping up to date, and I confess I do not read every post in this thead, hence the daft question

LMSC

dfk41 Good question!

Aesthetics vs £175 + taxes, should it be of an interest to anyone! Some reported the current feet are a bit wobbly on their machine.

Bet the same folks who 'complain', do not upgrade!

Cuprajake

I priced these up but thought against it in the end, not worth the update to the machine really

Here's another extraction. I still get slight donuting

LMSC

Cuprajake Scope to work on the distribution a bit and perhaps you may consider tightening the grind a bit. I would first loosen the grind and see. Is it Niche?

We are going to see it when we open a new bag, which is normal.

Park the money for a silent pump! 😂
