Glad you like it :) It was a great song when Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails wrote and performed it about his heroin addiction, but he now says it’s Johnny’s song.

-Mac Here’s another song where the author has acknowledged that the cover is the version that most people know. Hopefully someone on here will be familiar with Dunfermline’s finest rockers’ Joni Mitchell cover. She latterly routinely introduced it as a Nazareth song.

I’ve never been ID’d in a pub. Only time I’ve been asked for ID when buying alcohol was when buying 4 cans of Coors in a supermarket in the USA when I was 25 and when getting a bottle of spirits delivered from Amazon when I was in my 50’s!

BTW - the pub I had my 18th in is still open, although it has progressed from simply having an excellent jukebox to becoming a gig and club venue. Sneaky Pete’s in the Cowgate in Edinburgh. It’s still a dump!

I was asked to show my ID when I bought a few cans of beers along with the basket full of stuffs on a Sunday afternoon from a BP petrol station. A young man was at the counter and just refused sell me beer without the ID. I think it was probably a case of harassment than anything else, although anyone can be asked to be ID-ed.

Although I had my ID, I refused to show it, left the full basket for him to sort out and went to an off licence a few miles away.

This happened about about 13-15 years ago! I am 60 now! 🤣
