LMSC I haven’t noticed any difference, to be honest I haven’t gone looking for it either.
I don’t like the clear plastic 01 cones just because they tend to crack & haze and I’ve not had any similar issues with the 02 versions.
In many pour over brews, across V cones, flat bed & truncated cones I’ve not found a stand out brewer amongst the commonly used ones (V60, Kalita Wave, small Clever, Melitta & Bartleet 3 hole Melitta style) when dialled in, whether in terms of design nor material. They all seem to average out around the same level of preference over a good sample size.
After Hoffmann’s ‘better 1 cup V60’ video I agreed that preheating even plastic cones made the brew more intense, so I typically do that with any material now (but it doesn’t replace/trump dialling in).
Dialling in each one finding the right grind setting & pour rate is more important than the material.
