Lelit Elizabeth Screen Burn-in

Hi - I have been happily using a Lelit Elizabeth for slightly more than a year. I have turned off the power saving feature and kept the machine on for all day between 8am-8pm as I usually am short on time and can’t wait for the warm up. Lately I have realized that the screen has burn-in (a ghost of 94C image remains on other displays). It’s not too bad, but wondering if this may get worse over time and whether there is a way to protect the display (while not putting the whole machine to sleep).

postexitus I have seen on some machines (I think another Lelit machine) a moving square on the displays, which are of course OLEDS.

I don’t remember any screen saver on the Lelit Elizabeth and I didn’t think screen burn would be a problem if I am honest. I shall discuss with Lelit for a potential programming change across the range of machines/grinders that don’t have this.

I think the Bianca V3 has a moving square that appears on a black LCC display screen, when the machine is left idle for a while that may well act as a screen saver. It’s certainly an alert that the machine is on. I am using another machine where the screen simply goes black, which is unuseful!

I can’t remember 100% because of so many machines and I have my Puristika on the counter for the moment testing other equipment.

I’ve let Lelit know as I am pretty sure it was Bianca, but it’s something perhaps they can look to implement across the range. It would of course require the different LCCs to have new programming written by Gicar.

That is very annoying! Ideally it would have a screen saver. I always turn mine on/off as and when I need it, and I’m assuming most of the other members do that too.

I suppose this is also an issue for the Bianca.

It is on the Bianca V3 as I thought…and hasn’t caused other problems

So Lelit are going to schedule it for release across their LCC machine…my e-mail about the burn in in prompted them so they decided to do start planning a rollout……I don’t know when it will be released though, as Gicar will have to change the programming and that can take a while. Also existing inventory has to work it’s way through the system.

If/when I get the software image from Lelit, I “may” be able to reflash some Elizabeth displays (your own risk). Retailers absolutely cannot reflash these, they have neither the procedures or the equipment, so don’t bother asking.

So presumably it might be a problem. Presumably if it wasn’t a problem then the Bianca, which also uses the LCC, wouldn’t have the screen saver. 👍
