Afternoon all. I noticed a water pool returning a couple of time under rear right of machine, opened up the machine today to investigate and noticed that there was a build up of scale etc, so presumably this is leak site.
I’ve used almost exclusively RO water, machine in use since ~June 2019. Never used the water tap from steam boiler, however have emptied it out every year to eliminate any build up of minerals as using steaming function only.
IMG-1755 gives a good view - presume this requires the boiler to be completely removed, clean up and retape and reinstall? Not sure how involved this is, would ask for advice on what type of tools (e.g. pair of ** size spanners, PFTE tape etc) and how easy this may be to complete, or am I better to go to a local service company to get done? @D
Although using RO water, seems to have scaling in service boiler - would this build-up indicate so?
Also noted scorch marks on the red wire (IMG-1754). Any reason to be concerned with this? I’ve noticed burn marks on the inner cover (See IMG-1752) in the general area just above, you can see outline of boiler base on the cover.
