Hi everyone! What a great forum, I’m really enjoying all the posts!
I have a recently bought a 2018 Vesuvius and am trying to tune the Pump PID because of overshoots. I’ve set a profile with 11s at 2 bar followed by 10s 8.4 bar and then declining. I haven’t spent too much time tuning but what I notice is that there is huge variability in terms of the overshoot that happens when going from 2 bar to 8.4. Sometimes the pump is slowing down very quickly and there is no overshoot, sometimes it is accelerating to high speeds before it slows and I get overshoots to 12 bar or more. It might be all puck preparation, but I’d like to rule out one thing first:
Does anybody here know how frequently pressure is measured? It feels almost like the PID sometimes misses the pressure increase because the sensor readings are too infrequent. If the readings were only as often as the display update, that behaviour would make total sense. Sometimes I see an increase from 2 to 10 bars within a single display update (and that is after the pump has already accelerated).
