This is a stupid question but I’m going to ask anyway… it’s totally fine to lower steam boiler pressure right?

The LM is set to almost 2 bar from the factory and whilst it’s been amazing for making 2-3 flat white worth of milk, it’s a bit challenging in a small pitcher half full. It steams the milk in like 4 seconds but that’s not much use when most of it is on the floor.

Presumably I can just lower it to about 1.5 with no problem?

Ernie1 - it’s a dual boiler machine, so the answer is yes.

Ernie1 - out of curiosity, how do you adjust it? Is it through a screw (pressure stat) or is it via a more elaborate way?

Under the top cover there’s a little flathead screw on the left, in what I assume is a thermostat.

Small adjustments until the pressure gauge drops. I purged the steam a few times and let it rise before adjusting again.

I must say it’s all very tidy under the hood!

There might be ways of doing it with the connected app thing but I haven’t bothered with that yet. More comfortable with mechanical things than I am with electrical ones, especially wireless!

Yeah I think you can control preinfusion and other bits. I haven’t messed with it yet.
