Lelit Elizabeth Water Out Sensor Permanently On?

Hope you or others can help with a small item.

I had finished pulling some shots and had turned the machine off. Then decided why not give it a good flush. So I turned back on. Then decided to flush with ZeroWater. Removed the tank, which produced a water out signal. Put ZeroWater in the tank and reinserted the tank. Water out signal remained on. Turned the machine off and on. Still water out indicator. Read somewhere that pure unmineralized water can cause water out indicators to produce faulty readings. So replaced the ZeroWater with my current water recipe (potassium bicarbonate and ZeroWater). Turned on the machine. Still water out indicator. Turned off and letting the machine completely cool down. Will try again.

What happened? Why? Its a relatively new machine. How do I reset the water sensor?

Not on the Elizabeth! The Elizabeth has concealed float on the left side of the tank. It potentially got stuck.

Take the tank out again and see if the float is moving by emptying the tank and turning it upside down.

Simples.

Report back.

The other less likely possibility is… Did you put the tank the other way round by any chance?

In other words, the tank float needs to be on the left side of the machine (same side as the on/off switch).

You are a star! There is no float in the tank itself. But there is a click switch at the bottom. I also may have put the tank in reversed. Just had my Covid booster yesterday afternoon, so the brain is a tad fuzzy. All good. Very much appreciate the fast reply.

Trust me, there is! And there’s also a tank presence sensor at the bottom of the tank assembly (as you have correctly identified). Look at the left side of the tank, internally - notice how one side is different from the other. There’s a run where the float moves up and down alongside the water level. if the float reaches near the bottom, the magnet signals the tank is empty and the machine alerts the user via the display and and turns off the heating elements.

Weird! Will stare inside the tank again next time I fill it. When I last looked I saw the inside of the tank and 2 hoses. Will again look where you suggested. Must be my Covid booster muddled brain.
