Penance Has anyone here used the Mignon single dose hopper made by Eureka?
I had bought the hopper with bellows, but later sold my Eureka Mignon Speciata (after only 5 months ownership), following my purchase of a Niche Zero.
The hopper was useless, as it leaked bellows air at the hopper opening and closing lever/gate. And the bellows was short and not very powerful. It also leaked air at the circular point of connection between the bellows and the hopper. As a result it did not push much in the way of retained grinds through. The bellows also regularly came off. I only bought the OEM version (and not a 3D printed one) because I liked the clear plastic. So I paid $125 Cdn versus $75 for a 3D printed one, and ended up with a badly designed piece of cr**.
Grind retention was substantial (ranging from 0.5 to 1.0g), so a well designed single dose hopper and bellows would help. There are numerous listings on Etsy for single dose hoppers, bellows and tilted stands, all to try to solve the grind retention issue.
Its a well built machine, but its design could be better. But thats the subject of another post.
