You are probably already aware, but incase you are not: the perception of loudness is dependent as much on frequency as it is dbl. A 60db sound at 1000 hz would be perceived at the same loudness as a 70db sound at 200hz.

Dave, have you received your EVO Leva yet? I’m excited for a report/review from you on it. Personally I’m Torn between the EVO and the Vostok. I’ve got the Room for either, and now that the internals are identical it has made the decision harder yet! 1st world problems no doubt…

I have not, unsure whether I will get it before Christmas, which is a shame as I would have the time to do a good review over the Christmas period.

I personally prefer the panel and control placement on the Evo, but the main thing for me…it’s more compact.

I also have a Vostok on order that would likely have shipped already if it wasn’t for me adding the safety device. When I was contacted late October, I was told that the safety system would’t be ready until late November or early December and adding it will delay my machine. I was okay with that. Dave’s machine is waiting for the same thing.

So our machines should be shipping any day now…

I was torn between the two, as my space could just fit a Vostok. Decided that it made more sense to have the smaller footprint to free up space for other things on the counter.

Now it’s the waiting time, but I’m sure it will be after Christmas.

I asked for an update on my machine.

Your machine is ready.
We are waiting for the safety system which is taking longer.
Our supplier has to deliver the piece that needs to be modified.
We are expecting the delivery before Christmas, but we do not know if the machine can be sent before the Holidays or right after it.

So at least for me, with delivery to the US, probably won’t happen till January. I do hope you get yours first, so I can have an updated user guide before mine arrives.

Hi all, everybody knows what the Lever does when the Portalfilter is not correctly locked in the brew group 😉.

In principle the same can happen when the valve, which is used for feature automatic release, is erroneous. When you feel safe, because you have locked the portalfilter correctly, standing close to the lever during preinfusion, what did ACS foresee to mitigate the safety risk that a broken valve releases the pressure accidently.

I heard from this safety feature, but this seems to be optional.

The release valve failure would allow the lever up no faster than when normally operating it….which is not that fast. There are videos on here showing how fast the lever moved when the release valve is operated. When I get my machine, I will be making a series of videos.
