I just realised that I have had the big girl for a year now.
I had a bit of a hick-up last November when she somehow blew the commercial grade boiler element but it was relatively easy to diagnose and Paolo was very helpful with advice and rapid delivery of a replacement boiler.
There is a weird flex in the frame, probably from my two handed method with the LSM Fork handle.
If I am not totally aligned, the frame flexes/twists a bit.
I cured this by placing a couple of old bearing cases under the rear of the front subframe.
I will get around to drilling it and mounting a couple of extra feet one of these days.
I will also get around to having a drain outlet TIGed into the rear of the overflow tray.
Apart from that it just works, making great coffee with minimal effort.
I will probably get the flushing lever but I am working on something local at the moment as freight is about $100aud and I reckon I can do something simple like DaveC’s first one.
I am not really interested in the safety system as my unit seems to sit really well, perhaps because of the Forkhandle and using two hands.
Also I am not a fan of a screw in the middle of the screen and the potential of the jet of water fracturing the puck.
I am sure they will sort it out but, for the moment I don’t see the need.
The Strietman CT1 and Argos rarely get used as it is such a pleasure to walk up to the Vostok and knock one out.
I might have to break out the tool kit and pull the piston assembly for a clean, lube and perv.
