McCoyHeavyIndustries Recently my V2 has started making a 60 cycle hum (US model) when pulling shots. Sometimes very loud, sometimes quieter. If I flip the shot lever up down up, it will often stop. It never happens if the HX button is not enabled. Time for descaling? Is there some junk (lime [yeh, it’s pretty clean water, but not DI etc]) caught in the valve? Would a nice citric acid bath help? Or does the solenoid need replacing? It seems to be part of the whole big valve assembly so this might be tricky. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
DavecUK You don’t need HX on for domestic use, it’s there to increase capacity for commercial use. There will be something in the solenoid preventing it seating properly, so they buzz. Open solenoid and clean.
dougyea Hey Dave, Just found this thread think it might be my issue also. Would you have a pic of solenoid? Or is there multiple? How would you suggest cleaning it? Regards
DavecUK dougyea Just found this thread think it might be my issue also. Would you have a pic of solenoid? Or is there multiple? How would you suggest cleaning it? I’d really like to see a video with sound otherwise we could write lots of stuff, you could fix things that arn’t broke and spend more money than you need to. Its unfortunate that the person with the problem never cam back and updated us on what fixed it. The solenoid simply looks like an autofill solenoid…sort of like this.
