TomR you are probably right about ease of sale with the Moca but then again, I think its a keeper!
The Niche is the winner for that the thick chocolate style espresso and especially with any roast from medium and darker and even more so when milk is added.
The Moca is an equally clear winner for anyone wanting more origin flavors and it really shines from City (medium/light) through medium and into Full City (medium/dark). It’s also unbeatable in work flow and retention. Personally, workflow is not a biggie for me.
Those interested in filter are probably going to want a grinder with variable RPM and low RPM.
@thedudeabides @Tjyven and any others waiting for the Honne v Moca taste comparison, apologies but the beans I need to do the comparision between the Honne and the Moca are still five days away from being ready to grind. I currently only have very light beans so it will have to be next weekend.
On Friday I tried to source some darker beans for the comparision but all the local roasters seem to be third wave style and their darkest is Cinammon (lighter than light) on the Agtron scale. Quite amazing how this has changed over the last five years. Used to be you couldn’t find a light roasted bean for love nor money, now it’s the opposite.
Bottom line is I need to wait a little longer until my home roasted beans have ressted a bit more.
