Backflushing Lelit Elizabeth

I have been using Dave Corbey’s Hybrid Backflush method since I bought my two Elizabeth’s (in two different houses).

I find that even after the final “standard” Lelit backflush there is still some powder let in the blind cup. I have tried mixing a little hot water with the powder in the cup before the first hybrid flush (I usually do two or three with at least 30 secs between - usually longer) but it still doesn’t clear the powder completely.

Now I empty and rinse the blind cup and then do another hybrid flush in the hope that this will leave the system fully flushed.

Has anyone else had this problem?

MBdoc - how much detergent are you using? And what are you using to back flush? Is that the supplied blind basket or the rubber bung?

I’ve been using this methodology for a while, and at the end I always have clean water. However, I do wait 10 minutes or so between kicking in the automatic cycle.

Thanks. I use about ½ a level teaspoon of powder in the supplied blind basket.

After I had posted this I checked the cup and there was a small amount of hard powder in the bottom, quite hard to scrub off. I washed out the cup and did several more hybrid flushes checking the water flushed into the drip tray after each. It took about 3-4 before there was no trace of powder in the water in the drip tray (I emptied the tray after each flush).

Maybe I am just too obsessional!

MBdoc - for what’s worth, I use approx. 4g of powder into the blind basket. I then fill the basket with water from the hot water tap to dissolve it. I used to give it a stir back in the day but have not done so recently. And only then go about doing the backflush routine.

MBdoc I probably use ¼ of a teaspoon, as I’d be doing it once or twice per week.

Maybe I am using too much powder. I will cut down by about ½.
