capuchin Hi, thanks for the info Steven - decided it’s probably not for me. Too large and far away mostly (and doesn’t seem to have all the original bits from the guy you bought it from) Thank you for the thought @CoyoteOldMan
StevenG91 capuchin No problem.. by original bits it doesn’t have a hopper 😅. As explained it’s been converted to single dose, and had parts swapped out. But thanks for your interest.
capuchin StevenG91 Thank you! I mainly meant the metal cylinder at the front where the grounds go into (on cuprajakes picture you can see it) and the grind adjustment lever. I’m sure it’s nothing major, but unfortunately I don’t know enough about grinders to inspect it after a 200 mile drive for collection and see if it’s all ok wrt motor condition etc.
StevenG91 capuchin the reason Jake’s looks different is because mine has the full Daniel Wong kit on in comparison to Jake’s which has original mazzer forks. The lever adjustment is literally just a screw with a rubber handle and comes with different variations I just swapped mine out . If you Google the Wong kit you’ll see it’s about 180 dollars itself + shipping and any duties. With regards to the motor these things are virtually bullet proof, but there’s not much I could say to reassure you with regards to it’s lifespan. You might be better buying new if your worried about the lifespan of the motor, and maybe consider something like the niche?
Cuprajake Mine was a add on part, from factory they come with a dosing hopper on the front I went down the same route with the wong doserless kit. But wanted a more OEM look, so got the front doser. Was £100 used.
John_Yossarian StevenG91 I would have gone for it if I hadn’t have a grinder already. At this price point it will be a great addition to any good coffee machine. As you said, these grinders are built to last. I hope someone would buy it soon. Good luck.
little_tipple StevenG91 ah, a little far from hampshire for a simple trip. Any idea what postage would cost?
StevenG91 little_tipple I believe postage is roughly £10 uninsured with parcel force, I think it’s about £17 extra to insure it for full value..
