Pompeyexile We thought Money Heist was brilliant…Well over the top, lots of clever nutty unbelievable ideas, but escapeism at its best. Waiting for the final season of Ozark with anticipation and at the moment enjoying the new season of Dexter.
LMSC Pompeyexile We have another 3 episodes left on season 5. We keep our mind out while watching box sets like this.
MediumRoastSteam I watched The Silent Sea, Glória and Better than Us, recently. On Netflix. All very good.
mfsl Eric Clapton’s The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions, the best sounding album from Eric after Unplugged ’92 :)
Nightrider_1uk Second year of not going out to a rock band on NYE. Wife had a friend over last night, so watched Graham Norton and then Jools Holland, Once upon time jools used to have some good music, not any more. Once everyone had gone to bed had to put the headphones on and listen to a bit of Gary Moore - Out In The Fields Album….Was sorted for bed after that.
DavecUK Now as I changed the tag to include things other than music. Did anyone watch Squid Games on Netflix. I wasn’t too sure about it, but I watched it and actually enjoyed it greatly.
Rob666 DavecUK Did anyone watch Squid Games on Netflix. I watched the first episode and decided it wasn’t for me. OTOH just watched the whole 10 episodes of ‘The Brink’ and loved it! It’s been around for some time but I’ve only just discovered it. Also started ‘Witcher’ looks promising…
Pompeyexile DavecUK We really like Squid Games although wasn’t too sure about the ending. Watched another Korean jobby called Hellbound, which I really liked too.
DavecUK Rob666 Also started ‘Witcher’ looks promising… Witchers really good, for the first episode or so I wasn’t sure, but then it became…fantastic.
Pompeyexile DavecUK Is that the one with the bloke who plays Superman? Also really like ‘You’ on Netflix.
DavecUK Pompeyexile Is that the one with the bloke who plays Superman? Also really like ‘You’ on Netflix. It is, Henry Cavill… Thanks, I shall check “You” out.
DavecUK Flat_Eric Jesus, watching that, I’d never even try to learn! You just know only a few people in the world can be that good….I must search him out and listen to a bit more of his stuff…he is the Oscar Peterson of the guitar for sure..
Hotmetal Wow, that is impressive guitar right there. I used to love it maybe 25 years ago when blues bands or open stage days were a thing in pubs. Used to see some great bands on your doorstep, blues guitar was really my cup of tea, always regret not even attempting to learn.
MediumRoastSteam Hotmetal always regret not even attempting to learn. It’s never too late! I can play a few instruments, but to an extreme basic level. No matter what, I always reached a point where things became too complicated, and, I either prioritised something else or found myself not dedicating enough time in order to progress further.
Gagaryn MediumRoastSteam I’m much the same. I’ve reached a point on guitar where anything more “impressive” is just too much work. I play for enjoyment and have learned the little I’ve learned through playing for that enjoyment rather than practicing to get better - that’s my excuse for my sloppy technique anyway. All that 5 notes a second stuff does nothing for me anyway. If I want to hear someone rocking out I prefer the lazier approach, like Neil Young with Crazy Horse stuff. Mick Ronson played some amazing stuff with Bowie too - an amazingly understated and elegant player. Even in gold lame and platform boots. :-)
