Systemic Way, way back, had an Elinchrom studio flash set up I picked up for a song. Comprised two flash heads and the output at full power was insane. You could smell ozone after they discharged.
Rob666 Systemic I had a couple of old Bowens flash heads for years. Full power was likewise insane! And the ozone, also there was voltage enough on the trigger connection to give you a bit of a shock…
Rob666 Systemic Likewise😀 My first camera was this 127 film camera from Kodak My memory was playing tricks! My first was in fact a Kodak Brownie 127 and the second was the one you’ve shown above.
Rob666 DavecUK magicubes Four flash bulbs in one revolving block? Yes but never had a camera which used them.
Systemic Rob666 Four flash bulbs in one revolving block? Yes but never had a camera which used them. Magicube was invented for the Instamatic range of cameras which, at the time, were very popular. Film came preloaded in a cassette which you dropped into the back of the camera.
DavecUK Systemic and no battery required, just a pocket fill of magicubes, which you hoped would never go off on their own!
DavecUK Systemic Think the Instamatic needed couple of AAA batteries to power trigger the flash? Nope, that’s not how the magicubes worked…it was a purely mechanical system to set them off.
Systemic Kodak had big success with the point and squirt camera range and a big player in the film market. Look at them now.
DavecUK Systemic Kodak had big success with the point and squirt camera range and a big player in the film market. Look at them now. They did a Nokia…the Nokia of the film world <lol>. It happens when a company gets so big they think they are invincible…realisation only happens 2 years after it’s too late.
Elcarajillo My first camera was an Agfa Isola 1 followed by a Fugica 605n , Nikon D70 S, Nikon D300 (dropped and broken) Nikon D500, I seem to have lost interest lately😟 . Nikon and Sigma lenses inc Sigma 50 -500
pipedreams86 Did a photoshoot with the Evo Leva this morning, loving this new lens so far, took quite a lot of pics on the camera and phone, so more are on my imgur: https://imgur.com/a/tYln3oJ
DavecUK pipedreams86 What Fstop were you using, really tight depth of field there. In my old 35mm days that would be at least an F1.7 or less
pipedreams86 Cuprajake Yeah it’s worked well for me, the Vostok I have incoming will have the same setup
pipedreams86 DavecUK yeah I was trying to push the depth of field a bit this morning and play around with the new lens I’m testing out. This lens is 50mm that goes to f1.2, I was mostly around f1.8-f2.2 for these shots…nothing better than a morning combining my 2 hobbies of espresso and photography!
pipedreams86 DavecUK what camera were you using with the 35mm? I have never owned a 35mm but thought about it often when deciding on the 50mm!
DavecUK pipedreams86 I think you misunderstand, it was the 35-mm film camera.. the fastest lens I had at the time was on a Fuji camera and it was a f1.6 50mm lens.
