Vesuvius water reservoir leaking

Hi, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement tank and water level sensor?

it’s leaking where the sensor goes into the tank. cheers Eddie

Best option would be to send an email to Paolo Cortese, who is the founder of ACS. @DavecUK can advise better but this is the first thing that springs to mind.
Is there any option to try rectifying it, e.g. use some food grade glue?

here are some photos of the problem

it started leaking from the seal so I tightened it slightly and I mean slight;y and the plastic bolt thread snapped

Ger a piece of rigid plastic pipe a little larger than the thread, cut to length of broken thread, plus 0.5 to 1cm. Slip over thread, then do bolt up against the pipe to draw the seal back in.

The thread broke from the inside right at the end, so I couldn’t draw it back.

ended up buying some Loctite super gel, tried a few times but managed to get it to stick,

cleaned and made the hole a little bit bigger,

turned the seal around and pushed it through from the outside and used it more like a washer, and gently tightened it enough for it to bite.

seems to be holding, for now, 🤞 thanks for all the suggestions.

PS Paolo said he’d send me one next week hope its the updated one🤞

Cuprajake The problem is a crudely cut hole by the look of it this sealed with a pull through. Probably needs overtightening which is why it broke. That hole should have been made using a proper tool.

Hi Dave would the Water Level Sensor that cuprajake linked be okay to use for now? they seem cheap enough.

DavecUK I think Paolo has already made changes. At least my year old Vesuvius has a completely different sensor which doesn’t require any hole in the water tank. Having no hole in a water tank is a wise move I’d say.

Gagaryn He could actually change the tank and fit the current one (that needs no hole) I think.. Yeah I forgot they no longer “cut” holes in the tank. So no point me saying anything. My temp repair should get him through, he just needs something (spacer) to take the space of the broken thread. I could even be made out of drilled wooden dowel…anything really.

it has been on Youtube for years but the use of Superglue and Baking Soda dries instantly and rock solid, not wanting to tempt fate but I have one false tooth on a plate, one of my front teeth and it has been fixed with this method for months!!!, cheaper than the Dentists
