WorldsPantry John_Yossarian @ “John_Yossarian”#p37077 hi john thanks for taking the time to answer me … it’s a great machine seems to work perfectly .. pulled some great shots already .. had and still got a rancillio silvia for the past 10 years… would like to just get to know it inside out ..
Cuprajake in terms of spares the group is an e61 so the service items will be normalized across the board, if you need odd stuff acs repond quick to emails : sales@mevsrl.net i would recommend a new group gasket, cafelat do the red or blue silicone seals for around £8
WorldsPantry Cuprajake ahhh brilliant that’s what I’m after .. help like that 😂 obvisly never seen one working so I’ve no comparisons it’s different from the diesel van that’s the rancillio
WorldsPantry Cuprajake ohhh know … here we go … 😂😂 could you imagine I’m 10 years old in any further reply’s … what’s the pen … ?
WorldsPantry DavecUK thanks dave .. word on the street is your the go to guy for help on this machine 😂
Cuprajake easiest way if you’re not sure is to up load unlisted vids on youtube, and link them here, you can upload pics direct to the forum though, there as easy or as hard to use as you want make them, haha @Grahamsphillips has a Vesuvius tds pen
WorldsPantry Cuprajake thanks for that going to order one tonight .. just think I’ll get it set as I like it on profile 1 and leave it 😂..
JahLaza WorldsPantry One of the things I really like about it is that you can change your profile to suit your taste more with any given bean. I’ve done things like a higher initial pressure to increase acidity/fruity and visa versa to reduce it, and it has made beans much more pleasant to my taste which otherwise may not have been possible. I generally buy 1 kg at a time so it’s great to be able to manipulate the taste in these scenarios! You can of course change temperature ratio etc. but the pressure profile is a great trick once you get that hang of it. Stick with it, it’s a great machine
Cuprajake I’ve always wanted a Vesuvius, the idea of profiling really appeals to me. Have you any pics
WorldsPantry JahLaza to be honest that’s exactly the sort of help or guidance I need .. I’d really appreciate any further tips .. I’m assuming you have the same machine … ?
DavecUK WorldsPantry It’s fun to experiment learn and the beauty of it is, you can learn at whatever pace you want. Then save the profiles you like best.
JahLaza WorldsPantry there are a couple of good threads on here worth checking specific to the Vesuvius https://coffeetime.freeflarum.com/d/1462-acs-vesuvius?page=2 https://coffeetime.freeflarum.com/d/596-vesuvius-pressure-profiling-machine-general-discussion/161
WorldsPantry DavecUK it’s exciting .. takes you down the rabbit hole … just a quick question Dave I’m trying to plumb this in to the mains and it didn’t come with the hose as it’s obviously secondhand. Can’t find anything in the manual either and searched extensively online . Have I assumed correctly I will need to install one of these into the bottom of the machine. 6mmx ⅜ BSPT 90° male stud elbow, push-in fitting nylon pipe/tube connector… then I can connect a piece of 6mm pipe into a T in-line with the output of my Britta water filter tap.. ??
JahLaza WorldsPantry here is a picture of the hose that comes with it for plumbing in. Each end has a Flange with outer diameter of 13mm and it’s nut is 23mm outer diameter
DavecUK WorldsPantry Be careful it’s a small elbow and easily damaged. They are a standard hose and should be purchasable from any espresso parts store. Just make sure it has an elbow 1 one for under the machine and the washers haven’t fallen out (I think there should be washers…). I will have to look at some of mine, as I don’t like to plumb machines in.
WorldsPantry JahLaza ummm this is interesting as the fitting on the bottom of the machine needs a male fitting ?? This is a picture of the inlet .. with the ⅜ plug still in
