Still seems a bit wild to not include numbering on the dial. I guess for a ‘set and forget’ on-demand grinder it’s not crucial, but for a single doser designed to jump between beans, seems pretty fundamental.
I’m guessing they didn’t want to use decals/print for numerical marks and they don’t have the tooling to etch numbers on a radial surface. But that means function is following form, which is a bit of a contradiction in an otherwise considered design.
I guess a relatively unobtrusive workaround could be to print a clear circular label with numbers marked to stick to the outside surface of the adjuster. Not massively elegant but nicer than Sharpie marks all over the nice shiny grinder.
I’m surprised they couldn’t laser etch the flat outside surface of the knob with numbers, seems like it would be way more functional without detracting from the design.
