The thing that often gets overlooked with OD grinders is that they have been designed to work with some level of weight on the beans pushing them into the burr chamber. I get drastically different results with an almost empty hopper as I do a half full one and different again with a full hopper.
For filter you’d probably get away with it but with the retention/exchange, I’d be sceptical you could switch coffees back to back and grind a few single dose shots with good results.
Having said all that, these grinders are really really good when used on-demand as intended. It makes the workflow quick and simple and if you drink primarily milk drinks, which I do, then the difference between beans that have been sat in the hopper for 12 hours max vs ones that are fresh out an airtight jar/freezer etc becomes pretty much unnoticeable. Especially on med/dark roasts.
