chlorox It has nothing to do wih the cost of the machine…He didn’t think they were necessary as he considered the other safety features better than the thermal fuse. But since it seems to make some people feel less than secure, he is happy to add the thermal fuses to his machine here on out to allay any concerns.
Let’s be clear here, most of the other features are not “safety” features in the sense of preventing a catastrophic condition. A safety feature is a:
- Limit stat
- a safety valve
- a timer that shuts a solenoid if it’s been open too long
- A routine that stops a pump if it’s run too long
Many machines specifically have the last 2 routines/physical components (e.g fusible links)
It’s not about some people feeling less secure, it’s about the machines being right. The limit stats should absolutely be added, not just to “make people happy”, but because it’s the correct thing to do. Not Antonio considering something to be better…especially when it’s not!
I always advise any espresso machine is not left on when away from the home. For the Nurri without limit stats, I would extend that recommendation to not left on an automatic timer/smart switch, until this is rectified.
