Abcan I apologise if this is already in one of the numerous water related threads (I’ve read loads of them but can’t seem to pick this info out). Is it ok to use the water directly from the RO machines like the OZ or Skuma without anything further being added? Also does the output of the RO differ depending on what water you put in? My stats are below. Thanks Al
mathof2 Osmio says on their site that they remineralise the RO water: “The final filter in the system contains calcium and magnesium active ceramic balls. They have the effect of adding around 20-30 ppm in total to remineralise the water.” (posted in December, 2018)https://www.osmiowater.co.uk/zip-portable-reverse-osmosis-system-all-questions.html Skuma RO water is not remineralised unless you use one of their remineralisation cartridges. I use Skuma’s Coffee Balance, which they claim adds 20 ppm of magnesium and 10.8 ppm of bicarbonate. https://skumawater.com/products/coffee-balance
Abcan mathof2 thanks for the info. I saw that but wasn’t 100% sure if that meant it was suitable for espresso machines.
DavecUK Cuprajake Not enough remineralisation to cause scale, as when you want to fill a machine, you do a long draw…the water is through the mineral cartridge so fast after the initial 200ml, it adds very little extra minerals.
