Have decided to sell my Kaffelogic Nano 7. Instead of posting photos I have done a video today demonstrating a roast and you can see the condition it is in. Will give it a clean in the forthcoming days. Asking price is £500 excluding postage/delivery - please don't offer less as I am not willing to budge on price. Collection is preferred (In Aberdeen, Scotland) however I would be willing to post this out within the UK. Would prefer if anyone purchases this they arrange delivery/courier. Taking payment as friends and family leaves you vulnerable to fraud and will be in violation PayPal's AUP, and they can take extremely punitive action against you. If you don't want to pay the fee, you're better having the buyer pay it or they can give you cash in person or pay by bank transfer. I was scammed by a seller asking for f&f payment before. I got my money back through my bank. PayPal were left to recover their losses from the seller - not a position you want to be in as they have a history of emptying sellers accounts and claiming damages.

@"Rob1"#p51104 Mate, I have been scammed by buyers many, many times on Ebay when I was selling my used CD's and vinyls for several years. People would outright lie about the condition of the items, claim they did not receive it etc - don't know what it is like now, but 10 or so years ago Ebay always sided with the buyer. It got seriously out of hand and was the main reason that I stopped selling on Ebay, and have not sold anything on there for many years. Also, I obviously wouldn't expect someone to pay friends and family if they were meeting me in person, face-to-face, in a public place - it would just be a simple bank transfer via mobile, which I have done multiple times with no issues - which is why I said family and friends **if** you wanted it posted out. I don't know what you are trying to insinuate with your final paragraph…sounds like you are saying I'm a scammer? Maybe I have that wrong? Anyway, I will make it easy then. **Collection only** in Aberdeen. Payment to be made when we meet up, bank transfer via mobile. At a push I could probably deliver in Dundee, or we could meet halfway. In short, no postage, collection only. Cheers!

People on here will not pay by friends take the fees. All sellers on here should suck up the fees.

I tend to ask 3% fees to cover it, but on £500 it's £15 for protection. It's hard to sell stuff now a days. I sold a Nikon d80 with two lenses for 280 iirc Seller said the camera was faulty, but would I accept % back and he keep the lenses. I got everything returned. And surprise surprise the camera was fine, seller had a second account selling camera gear and I had severly undervalued one of the lenses……

I ditched Ebay 7 years ago with over 1000 perfect sales. I advertised a macbook as faulty, spares or repair only. A chap bought it then immediately claimed back to Ebay saying it was faulty and would not boot up and they returned the £100. As usual, you could not speak to anyone so I closed my account. I buy the very odd thing now but have stopped selling

Beverast Not insinuating anything, just telling you taking payment as friends and family as a seller can be disastrous for you.

If the buyer uses a credit card to fund the purchase they can issue a chargeback. The bank sorts this out with PayPal, Paypal are told the friends and family payment was actually a sale, it’s flagged as fraud, the bank side with the buyer and pull money directly from PayPal’s accounts. This causes Paypal to lose liquidity. Paypal contact your bank and withdraw all of your funds and hold them as damages. You may or may not ever get your money back. Read up on the horror stories from sellers taking payment as friends and family being caught in violation of Paypal’s AUP…..just do a bank transfer. Nobody can do anything with your account number and sort code but pay you money.

Rob1 Ok, apologies I got the wrong end of the stick. So just checking, if you give the buyer your bank account number, sort code, name and address that it will be perfectly safe, with no possible repurcussions? If that is the case then I will say that I have been wrong. I have not sold anything online in a very long time, and perhaps don’t realise that things are a lot safer now. When I do sell something in recent times it has been always face-to-face, usually me popping into the town and doing the transaction in public.

Nothing is perfectly safe. The details you give can be used to aide in identity theft but not by themselves. Using a pseudonym would be helpful if possible - payments don’t need to be made in your name with most banks. It’s not a good idea to post openly as you can get spam and be the target of scammers who may try to obtain further information about you e.g they call pretending to be from your bank, give you your sort code and account number and then try to get you to answer security questions etc. Sharing with an individual should be fine unless they maliciously repost your details publicly.

Sadly no longer considering home-roasting currently based on the price of greens being a lot higher than I’d expected. If I had the space to buy a 1kg+ roaster and store sacks of greens I’d give it a go but not sure I’d give the sample roaster the use it deserves.
