The Despresso app is a truly native application available from the Play Store and App Store. It’s been created by independent people and written in a more modern language than the stock ‘app’ that Decent provide. In terms of functionality, it’s currently fairly similar to the Decent ‘app’. But the set up process on a new device is a lot more straightforward and it supports a few additional scales, also the Meater thermometer you can use for milk steaming. You can find the GitHub page with some information here: https://github.com/obiwan007/despresso as well as the app itself and a description on your app store.
It probably doesn’t make a huge difference to the end user but the Decent ‘app’ isn’t an actual app, it’s quite a workaround in an old programming language, but it doesn’t really matter if you don’t dig down into the guts of it.
I imagine in the future John or the community will support the Difluid scale for the Decent ‘app’.
How are you finding the Decent experience so far?
