Tablet Will Not Connect to Decent DE1XL - Grrr

The connection screen says searching and sees the DE1XL but will not connect. It also sees the Skale but will not connect. It did yesterday. I have tried turning off the machine and turning it on. The front power switch is on (shows a light). I then turned the tablet on, and launched the app. The app is up to date. V1.42.1.1. Not sure about the firmware (as the tablet won’t connect). See the below picture:

Fyi, I had thought that the USB connection to the machine would be sufficient? I guess not.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

If you click DE1 XL in the espresso machine section it should connect. If not you can manually remove the Bluetooth connection in the Bluetooth area in the settings of the tablet.

JHCCoffee It probably just needs the decent BT connection deleting from the tablet and re-pairing.

Where it has the parentheses before DE1 in your screenshot, click on them and it will connect. The tablet has scanned and found the machine but not selected to connect.

Thanks for the guidance. Decent just replied and advised me to do exactly that. Will try it tomorrow AM.

I did not see information in any of the manuals or troubleshooting guides. I will suggest to John and his Team that they do so, to save everyone time and effort.

Hey JHC, as I advised in my post to your other thread, it is clearly listed multiple times in the manual. It’s worth having a read through if you haven’t already as it answers a lot of questions and is really helpful as a new DE1 user. The DE1 is a fantastic machine but is very different to almost any other machine out there and it is not the most intuitive machine to use. Give me a shout if you’re getting stuck or have any questions.

Thanks @JammyDodger . I simply missed the part about actually clicking on the machine ID found through the search. I had thought that the search would result in a direct/immediate link.

And you are right; I do need to read the manual in greater detail and watch all the videos. I came from using a Lelit Elizabeth and Dave’s guides made it easy.

John has provided a lot of information, in writing and video. I just need to find the time to work through it.
