LMSC We are looking for a hard floor / wooden floor cleaner. We had a £100 machine lasting 2 years. We need a replacement. We are also looking to buy a carpet cleaner. The carpet cleaning area is over 1000 sq feet. Appreciate any recommendations. Thx
Elcarajillo I have a Vax Platinum carpet cleaner, I have found it very good. Forward holding trigger releases cleaning fluid and brushes. Release trigger and draw back vacuums dirt and fluid out leaving slightly damp. The appropriate fluid is quite expensive but well worth it. I did look at hiring a cleaner but having seen the state of some of them I purchased my own. Any other info just ask.
Loonster If I had carpet, I would hire steam cleaners that use only water. I don’t know of any residential units that are water only, hence the hiring out. For rugs, I would use a driveway, hose, brush, and mild laundry detergent.
Systemic delta76 Hijacking the thread - but any wood floor detergent you’d recommend? Just had oak floors laid - fitter said water with a tiny drop of detergent is fine. He stressed the floors should be swept first to ensure no danger of scratching by the mop. Bought a micro fibre mop - nothing fancy e.g. ones that self dispense cleaner fluid. Make is Bora - also bought their cleaner as it is highly recommended for wood floors.
DavecUK I can imagine the shout of have you got the bona, if so, hurry upstairs……before it gives out.
delta76 DavecUK not sure I get the joke (if it was?). - not a native English speaker. Can someone elaborate?
dfk41 delta76 Bona is pronounced the same as Bone r, which is slang for. an erection! I had to put a space inbetween the last 2 letters to avoid the word catcher
