Was going to restrict this to espresso making kit but let’s include brew as well.

Firs thing that springs to mind but id doesn’t have one, is the Cremina - 60 + years and still going strong. Not bad for a very manual lever machine that costs as much as some high end pump machines.

For grinders, the EK43 has been around since 1990 with very few changes and is still in high demand.

On the brewing side, Hario’s cory vacuum maker dates back to 1946. Whilst Hario don’t produce one now, there are other manufacturers selling them.

I have a Cona which is a work of art IMO.

Melitta drip cones, these have been around for 86 years in its current form (ceramic 102).

Bialetti moka pots date from 1933. It’s been around a long time, but I don’t know how frequently they are used nowadays outside Latin countries & communities.

Chemex coffee maker has been around since the 1940’s.

Systemic The most annoying thing with the Cona was when the rod rolled off and broke on the floor😳.
They also used to be on every ‘Berni inn’ bar, fond memories & HAPPY DAYS

You can still get all the parts including the glass drainer which is good news.

Can’t think 1970’s without thinking Berni Inns. Looking at their menu - the most expensive item was a 10oz rump steak at £6.25 which in today’s money would set you back over £65.00.

Systemic I think the cezve/ibrik probably beats the cafetiere, though it seems to be falling out of fashion in favour of espresso.

Nice one Mark - don’t think anyone is going to cap the ibrik’s 500 yr history.

      The E61.

I’m pretty sure two main factors in why it’s still so prevalent today is because of how good it looks and how much cheaper it is to manufacture than a saturated group.

La Marzocco Linea Mini - Mazzer Philos

Yep, the good old Moka Pot. Still use it from time to time when I want more of an espresso taste profile and don’t have time to pour an espresso machine shot.
