Loonster Some examples of (potential) errors I’ve seen.
Niche Duo Has a weaker motor than the DF83 because the Duo has a 130w motor and the DF has a 550w motor.
Londinium Vectis produces only 6bar of pressure.
Imagine that you were the reviewer, how would you edit the reviews to correct the above errors?
The Vectis 6bar item is especially contentious.
The Vectis produces 6.9 bar of pressure, as per the Daddys got Coffee advertorial..LH over egged that one a bit.
The Niche Duo will grind an 18g dose of green coffee from a standing start…show me any grinder that can do that..so it’s factually correct regards wattage (rating plate), which is different to what the motor can pull and highly misleading regarding capability.
Influencer reviews need to be very careful about this.
However there are many words unspoken about the Vectis which I gleaned from the DGC video, by following the clues and reading the bit people don’t normally read. It’s elsewhere in the Londo thread.
A reviewer needs to give the viewer the shared experience of being in the kitchen making coffee with the machine. In that way the potential interested person can get a good idea of the reality. This needs video, photos, internals and no annoying music, no jump cuts. How many times have I wished I could see the complete shot (no edits) without music over it.
However, viewers often talk about features and functions, not whys and hows and the reality of living with the machine. The Meticulous machine being a prime example. I suspect for most people the experience would get old pretty fast. Lastly they should stop using affiliate links and influencer codes.
