My countertop that is!
However, my posts are big. . . .
The past year has not been kind from a household finances point of view but within the next few weeks I’ll be ordering a new machine to upgrade from the Baby Gaggia.
In contention, Mechanika VI Slim, Pro 400 and (I guess but don’t like the look of) the MaraX.
Drinks? Probably 12/15 milk drinks and 10 or so espresso per week.
Would a Classic, Silva or Apartamento do? Probably but I know I will want to upgrade in five years and I have waited 18 months to make this purchase so I would rather buy once. Additionally, I love the hot water that doesn’t come through the steam wand, the ability to adjust temperatures (I know it is not a strict PID) and the opportunity to add flow control on the E61 at some point.
The thing is my countertop is a strange size and shape due to the previous owner’s garage extension. It is 53cm deep. There is also a wall that extends 22cm which the coffee machine will stand to the left of.
I can’t see any of these machines in the flesh as I live in Newcastle and no one up here stocks them.
Unless anyone in the North East wants a visit to show me their pride and joy? :-)
I require the assistance of someone who can measure their machines for me. For example. both the Slim and 400 have the temperature switch on the right side of the machine - where the wall it sits next to is.
How far from the back of the machine is the switch?
Is there a big plug on the back of the machine which means I cannot push it flat back against the wall?
I’d love some technical drawings of them but can’t seem to find any.
Finally, I think I understand that the Slim and 400 are effectively the same machine with the Slim being more premium in quality of components / construction and therefore price.
Is it worth it?
In dream world, I would love the Heritage line of the Slim but no one in the UK stocks it.
Mind dump over. All advice and help are appreciated.
