Whilst patiently waiting for my next delivery of ‘roasted to order’ beans, I’ve been on decaf in the meantime and fancied some caffeine. As I already had an Ocado order on the way, I added an emergency bag of Roastworks Rwanda Nyamasheke, washed red Bourbon for filter.
Roasted 7/6/24, BB 7/12/94.
Despite the age since roasting, this is a solid coffee and certainly representative of the notes.
Obviously, ordering direct from Roastworks will net you beans roasted much more recently and a little more vibrant in the cup. I’d score this cup at ⅞, whereas a more recently roasted bag would hit 8/9, nevertheless, I’d be happy to be served this and had plenty of roasted to order bags from others that scored 7/9, or less.
The coffee line up at Roastworks doesn’t seem to change much (hence I don’t order from them often), but their roasting seems very consistent. Their Nespresso pods, not so much - tasty when all goes well, but a bit hit & miss with extraction.
