My guess is that I’ve bought around seven or so grinders direct from AliExpress or similar.
It’s a lottery where the odds of winning are around 1 in 3.
If you get a reviewer you trust to give the grinder the thumbs up, then your odds improve to something like 1 in 2.
But those odds improve further again as the price goes upwards. Buying from China is the same as any other country in that the more you pay the more likely it is that you’ll end up with something that functions well and is durable.
For me, support from China is almost the same as support from Australia, because I don’t live in a big city so I can’t just pop in to the reseller and leave the machine with them. Whether its a reseller here on in China here’s what happens:
You email them with your issue.
They email back and suggest you try and couple of things. If there is no quick fix they ask for a video.
Based on the video they either suggest something else or send a new part with instructions.
If that fails, I have to ‘return to base’ at my expense which of course is less expensive within Australia. That said, I’ve never had to return a unit to base yet. Steps 1 - 3 have always resulted in a fix.
But if you have the budget, exploration can be fun. Just remember it’s a gamble.
