I think I am ready to take the plunge on this grinder - I keep hovering over the ‘buy it’ button on the Mazzer website and its only a matter of time …..
I have a couple of questions for you good folks that have already bought
a) the site has switched from the ‘pre-order’ @1 euro to actual buy it now. For us in the UK, the price showing is in GBP - can someone tell me if the payment is actually taken in GBP or Euro - as this will determine which payment route I take. I believe whilst it was pre-order, payment was taken in Euros, but not sure now
b) did anyone opt for the 189D burrs rather than the 200D? family tends to prefer more traditional espresso based drinks (i.e. chocolate, nutty) so beans tend to be on the medium to medium-dark side - and feel the 189D maybe better for us
..but that said, I am beginning to enjoy the more ligher roasts and have started to appreciate the fruiter flavours - which I never could enjoy with my HX e61, as the shots always turned out sour!
So, I am thinking of the 200D burrs and hoping that, they will still be suitable for the traditional espresso as well without losing too much of the ‘body’ - or am I being too hopeful?
currently, I have a Mazzer Mini (58mm burr version) and could plan to keep that and have best of both worlds (its been modded for single dosing and works really well)
thoughts?
