Any else got burr touching, mine needs zero new burrs in touching at 32 . That’s wat to much

Please could I have some assistance, I am trying to undo the burrs attached to the grinder itself and it looks like they have been done up by superman, any tips to undo the screws are appreciated, thank you.

You mean the one attached to the motor as opposed to the fixed ones.

Both very easy with ph2sl screwdriver.

I am sure many of you will say a number 2 Phillips is all you need but I strongly advise that the correct bit will keep the screws in good condition for much longer.

And to be clear, you do not need to use vde screwdriver 😎🫣🤪

Patented mazzer burr removal tool.

I strongly advise that you use wood rather than metal to stop the burr from rotating. Be warned if you do not follow with this advice.

Teaboy so now i have it this far do i put the 200’s back in ??!!…. Or give the 189 a few more days!!

P.s.

When undoing the screws give a strong sharp movement as opposed to gradually increasing pressure .

It is not a pH2. It is a PH2 SL or PH/S 2

Have you purchased new burrs.

If so and you email them i wouldn’t be surprised if they dont send you a set of genuine ones. In case not i will measure later…

In the uk you will probably purchase hex key or pz2 as replacements!!

Adrianmsmith I have genuine burrs yes sold from UK supplier in London but no screws came with the burrs the packet was genuine and sealed.

Not saying this is what happened but there were some ‘suppliers’ in the UK who had the Philos for sale before it launched at marked up prices when Mazzer were (and maybe still are) the only official channel to buy one.

Note that there is an older 189D burr that has been used for a number of years in other 64mm grinders and the i189D for the Philos I think might be slightly different given that people have said the fit isn’t identical with Philos burrs in other grinders.

The 189D are widely available and usually £20-30. The i189D (as far as I know) are only available from Mazzer and are £95 + tax/shipping.

It’s confusing because the name is so similar but that’s because the i189 is based on the 189.

You are correct on all counts!!

Total cost landed in the uk was approx £121. Had to order 2 sets to get in on the minimum order value. You can guess who has the other set!! I cant say due to gdpr!!

Ensure they are the i180D ( inox ) for the philos for full compatibility.

The centre hole and overall thickness are slightly different to the ones for the SJ I believe.

I was not saying the screws should have been delivered with it. Just that mazzer may let you have a set if you tell them the situation.

The older 189 burrs will probably have the Mazzer logo etched in grey rather than gold.
