T64 Grinder From Bella Barista

dfk41 doubt Mazzer would supply a Chinese manufacturer

All I’m saying is that, for me personally, I’d rather have bought a grinder costing £330 rather than £489 just because it has SSP burrs. I’d be happy with the Chinese burrs and in 2 years time when it’s out of warranty I could have bought Mazzer burrs if I wanted to. Maybe it could have been a good idea to let customers have a choice, maybe BB could install the SSP on request, so there would be no warranty issues.

Would you pay £649 for a Niche Duo with Mazzer burrs or would you pay £839 for a version with SSP burrs? I know which one I’d choose 😊 - but again that’s my opinion.

Based on a very quick internet search:
Mazzer burrs 83mm: £89
SSP 83mm: £279
Niche Duo one burr set: £649

Anyway. Just my opinion of my rationale based on your own comment:

dfk41 If you remove the cost of the SSP burrs that are included in the BB one, then the price comes down to about £300 which includes a full warranty

I hope I’m entitled to have one. 🤷

unfortunately Bella Barista does not have them for sale anymore. And the alibaba producer is asking 400USD + shipping for the grinder with SSP HU. There is 20% VAT and custom duties on top of that. Maybe the price can be lowered if we know it was sold for 260 before.

I did talk to them online and they don’t have it anymore. As I would have bought it.

It was sold with the titanium burrs indeed, but the shop told me it’s the same price with the titanium burrs(400USD). Still wondering how much would the custom duties are.

That sound off to me, because I am talking about SSP EP Red burrs, they are not, they are talking about their own coated burr!

Maybe I am not getting the right product but I found the T64 here: T64 Variable Speed Grinder

It says it is manufactured by Ningbo Grind Electronic Appliance Co, same manufacturer mentioned above.

I asked them if they would sell me the variable speed grinder with SSP HU Red Speed burrs for $405 pre-freight. They agreed. Add 89 dollars of freight and total price is $494. Unless I am missing something that seems like a good price…

gregE Ensure it is the right one variable speed I think is 300W vs 200 or 250W motor for the non variable speed. Look at photos for the variable speed dial opposite side to the power button

DavecUK Thanks for the info. I verified it was 300W and has the speed dial opposite side to power button. In fact, they sent me a photo of the unit. I also wanted to ensure they would install the SSP HU red speed burrs and they sent me a photo of a stockpile they had and said they do this regularly. I have never done alibaba before. I hope they deliver on what they have promised.

gregE Can I just make sure that I understand properly. You intend to buy directly from a manufacturer/seller on Alibaba who offers a one year warranty. You are based in the US and they intend to charge you $89 for shipping it to you. Just as a last thought, have you looked into getting a quote from an American based shipping service as to how much they would charge you to send it at your own cost from America back to China.

A warranty is an insurance. A total waste of money if you do not claim, but if you have a problem and have no insurance you will wish you had! I agree with you in as much as the chances of buying a dud should be remote. I doubt it would put e off, especially if you cannot buy from a US based dealer network
