I forgot to mention to ask for a unit with stepless grinding adjustment. The metal pin that produces the step adjustment can be easily removed.

Also, after 15 seconds of operation, the grinder switches to full speed. It may be useful to request that this feature be turned off, especially if you intend to use the grinder for other brewing methods than espresso, with large doses of coffee.

odor4fun yeah i was just referencing that you said “you got it without (dosing ring) and andcan’t use the portafilter, I have a stainless steel dosing-ring but it’s bigger and not compatible with the grinder cup)”. So im just saying can’t you get a dosing ring that fits your portafilter anyway?

I’m debating using the same alibaba vendor. I was told “$380” (including shipping to USA?) for one unit (white, variable speed, default burrs, 120V USA plug). “thekitchenbarista” seems to also sell these units for a similar price (and would come from Canada and perhaps have some support). The problem is I want/need white and variable speed, which only seems possible via alibaba. I’m just leery about spending about $400 and having zero actual support. At this price I thought it would make more sense to just get a DF64V, but a vendor told me they were getting tons of complaints about the ionizer clicking and were hoping a “v3” would be made.

Don’t be alarmed by the mess here, it’s not that pronounced, I exaggerated a bit to make you understand the need for the dosing ring. Maybe there is an advantage in that electrization, the chaff doesn’t get into the portafilter.

Any bellows makes loads of mess, i find pre soaking beans for 24hrs pre use works wonders

It is not stepless. But @odor4fun you mentioned there is a way to make it stepless?

The metal pin is placed in the 12 o’clock position. Use pliers to remove it.

It is placed vertically in the body of the grinder, it must be removed with pliers

Update: it came in. But how do i remove the parts here to get to the burr? I ordered this with SSP HU Burrs presumably installed so i want to check

Haha i’m (not so smart) and figured out it unscrews. But how do i tell if these are ssp?

gregE This probably wont help but the ones BB supplied came with the SSP box and documentation. Perhaps @Jason1wood can post a pic or two. If you undo the screws on the easiest one to take off, they ought to be clearly marked if they are SSP

gregE I for some reason can’t view the link?…but if you have removed them and seen with your own eyes on the back of the burrs, you should be good.

Dont cross thread anything when reassembling and torque the burr bolts correctly to ensure flatness 😳
