Well just unpacked mine and did a few shots initially at14 or 15 from zero, I was in at the 17 second mark, which with SSP burrs would be normal, as they are high uniformity and produce less fines than the Iitalmill burrs on the test prototype.
I then went to 12 from touching and that gave 47 second shot, so I’m now at 13 from touching and tomorrow we will se if that moves me closer to the 30s mark. There always a little`1 variability depending on preinfusion time, but once it’s dialled in it’s going to be pretty consistent.
The HU SSP burrs do produce that nice clean espresso, still a bit of body though (I put that down to the lever).
I believe if you went for one of these, you will be delighted. The SSP sticker was on the base of my grinder underneath…I checked the burrs and you can tell immediately they are not fakes.. Well I can as I have seen enough of them.
With the black you get a metal finish lid, with the white, my lid had a wooden cap piece on the top, looks great in black though.
