dfk41 Can anyone help? We have a Peugeot Rifter, like a Postman Pat vehicle but it lets my wife sit up front in her wheelchair. However, it is noisy, my wife softly spoken and I am hard of hearing! I thought that something like a motorbike intercom would work but you need helmets! Does anyone know of some kit that lets two folks speak to each other
I am hard of hearing as well, and wear hearing aids. When in the car, I set my aids on a setting (program) made for noisy environments (ie a program with noise reduction and speech focus). I also have a “multimike”, which is a very small device that one’s spouse can wear around their neck or clip on or just sit it on a table. It picks up sound and transmits it to your hearing aids. So your wife can talk into the multimike and you can hear her through the through your hearing aids. And you can have it set up to reduce noise and emphasize speech. My MultiMike also has an audio jack (minipin) so that I can plug it into my PC notebook or anything else that transmits audio. So I do MS Teams, etc calls with the audio wirelessly fed to my hearing aids. My IPhone also directly pairs with my hearing aids, for calls, music, etc. And it too can be useful as a microphone for my hearing aids. I also have a device that transmits TV audio directly to my aids, though it does limit my ability to converse while watching TV. Hope the above helps. Its a long and complex topic; I’ve been wearing hearing aids for some 15 years.
