Cuprajake Well were not very good at forward planning as a government.
We sold all our golf for bext to nowt 🤣 didnt we also find a massive pocket of gas which would give free gas for all?
App smaller nuclear reactors are the bees knees.
We’re not.
Along with the Golf, they gave away all the gold as well…..50 years of shale gas under our feet, and we are willing as a nation (so woke) that we will cut our throats financially to achieve absolutely nothing for climate change. increasing massively the costs of production and business then buy the stuff from overseas, because ours is too expensive. All the time other nations look and think how can we be so foolish, because they have no intention of cutting emissions, and every intention of making the things we can no longer make.
happy to pay China for Hinkley and a French company for another nuclear station (none of which will deliver anything for 10-15 years,, but don’t want to give RR a few billion to help develop the British small modular reactors….you couldn’t make it up. Successive governments of all colours and the civil service have simply watched us plunge into an energy crisis.
To top it all off, somehow the grid is going to support all these Electric cars. To make it even worse, it’s probably already more expensive to charge an electric car away from home per per mile travelled than Petrol and by 2030 even charging at home will only be cost neutral vs petrol.
I feel like I am watching a train crash in slow motion….
I think when prices go up, and the April rise won’t be the only one….people might wake up and smell the coffee. especially as China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam plan to build more than 600 coal power units
